Answer
·  How can I enable and disable Windows XP's built-in zip support?

XP provides built-in zip support so that you can open compressed files as if they were folders. However, if you use a third-party program, such as WinZip, XP's built-in zip handling might get in the way. To disable XP's zip support, perform the following steps:

Select Run from the Start menu.
Enter
regsvr32 /u %windir%system32zipfldr.dll
Click OK.
Restart the computer.

To enable XP's zip support, perform the following steps:

Select Run from the Start menu.
Enter
regsvr32 %windir%system32zipfldr.dll
Click OK.
Restart the computer.

·  How can I stop Windows XP from asking me whether I want to send an error report to Microsoft when a program crashes?

Windows XP introduced a feature that prompts you to send information to Microsoft over the Internet when a local program crashes. To prevent your computer from prompting you every time a program crashes, perform the following steps:

Start the System Control Panel applet (go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, and click System).
Select the Advanced tab.
Click Error Reporting.
Select "Disable error reporting" to stop the OS from sending crash information to Microsoft, or select any programs that you do want the OS to alert Microsoft about in the event of an application crash.

Click OK to make the changes effective.
Click OK to close the System Control Panel applet.

·  How can I control whether Windows 2000's dynamic disk upgrade is available on my computer?

Win2K introduced the concept of dynamic disks, which let you implement RAID-type disk configurations (e.g., disk mirroring, fault-tolerant striping) and make disk and volume changes without rebooting. Although Microsoft doesn't support dynamic disks on most laptops, you can enable a dynamic disk on your laptop. Alternatively, you might want to prevent users from upgrading their desktop computers from a basic disk to a dynamic disk.

A registry key controls the ability to upgrade a disk to a dynamic disk. To set this registry key, perform the following steps:

Start a registry editor (e.g., regedit.exe).
Navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlIDConfigDBCurrentDockInfo subkey.
Double-click DockingState and set its value either to 0 (to enable the dynamic disk upgrade option) or to 1 (to disable the upgrade option).
Click OK.
Close the registry editor.
Restart the computer.

·  How can I prevent overwriting all files during a bulk copy in Windows 2000?

When you perform a bulk file copy and files of the same name as those you're copying exist in the target location, Win2K will display a dialog box every time one of the files you've asked to copy will overwrite an existing file. The dialog box contains the following options:

Yes (to overwrite the file)
Yes to All (to overwrite all duplicate files)
No (to not overwrite the file)
Cancel

If you don't want to overwrite a particular file at the target location, you must click No when Windows prompts you about that file. If you don't want to overwrite any files that already exist at the target location, you can hold down the Shift key and click No, which acts like a "No to All" option.

·  How to configure Windows 95/98/ME to connect Windows 2000 server

You have to install Directory Services for Win9X on the client computers. On the Windows 2000 Server install CD there is a directory, :ClientsWin9X. The installer is in there (it is called DSCLIENT i think). Also, make sure you check "Log on to Windows NT domain" in Control Panels>Network>Client for Microsoft Networks>Properties if you have a domain.

·  I've heard you can use email to attack people with something called a Joe Job, what is that?

This is true. It is a way to make your 'enemy' receive a lot of emails (millions!) and also hurt his reputation at the same time. It is mostly used for political reasons as supposed to for monetary purposes. Wikipedia does a great job at explaining what a Joe Job is. Click here to find out more.
