Just a quick announcement that, since English radio in Taiwan is important, we were happy to help ICRT with their 100 days of summer web site. ICRT has broadcasted English radio in Taiwan since 1979

Actually ICRT was broadcasting English radio earlier than that serving the U.S. military community in Taiwan as the United States Armed Forces Network Radio Taiwan (AFNRT)

When the United States broke diplomatic ties with the Republic of China in 1979, English radio in Taiwan was almost over but  the American business community with the help of the ROC government, reorganized the station into ICRT.

The ICRT radio station enjoyed immense popularity during its first fifteen years. The station offered English radio Taiwan on two channels: FM100 and AM576. Both English channels provided similar content of foreign pop and rock except that FM100 also had daily 5-minute clock news, one-hour morning and evening news programs, and three hours of classical music on Sunday nights in Taiwan.

ICRT's news coverage was renowned during the first fifteen years of English radio in Taiwan. Live top of the hour news segments were broadcasted twenty four hours. ICRT remains equally popular today.
