AskMorris meets DPP chairman Yu Shyi Kun Articles / Speeches & Seminars Posted by support on Sep 25, 2006 - 10:03 AM Francis Morris and the DPP chairman Yu Shyi Kun at the Europe day dinner on May 12th - 2006 celebrating the creation of pan-European cooperation some 50 years ago, and the friendship and close cooperation between the Taiwan government, the Taiwan business community and the ECCT member companies in Taiwan. This year's dinner was attended by some 450 people including the guest of honour, President Chen Shui-Bian, a number of government ministers and officials, as well as some top business dignitaries representing both European and Taiwan companies. Speeches were delivered by the president as well as several members of the ECCT . Francis J.Morris was able to take a rest and not be one of the speakers at this event. A portion of proceeds from the dinner were donated to the Syin-Lu foundation. Following a delicious dinner, a bit of fun was arranged by Hugues Mignot, Representative of the Belgian Office in Taipei, who presented and conducted an exciting and entertaining quiz, testing the audience's knowledge of Taiwan and Europe. Prizes were given away to the most knowledgeable and quick-witted. The evening did not end there and plenty of members lingered for several hours to enjoy beverages and cigars at the bar.
