RSS is the new hot thing on the web. Websites that doesnt have a RSS feed might be considered to be outdated and not keeping up with the fast pace of the internet.
BUT WHAT IS RSS, REALLY?
Really Simple Syndication is the full name of RSS, and this is exactly what it is, a simple summary of a website. Usually it shows the X latest headlines/new entries of a weblog/news site.
EXAMPLE OF A RSS FEED......

-

AskMorris Inc.

AskMorris Inc. Powered Site

-

-
How many pages are needed for a website built for a small / large company?

-

As you can see the RSS file has HTML like tags in it, title, link and a short description of the website this feed is from. These tags are parsed of either your browser or your program, so they are instant links to the full article.
BUT WHAT CAN I DO WITH THIS?
Some web browsers let you add a RSS Feed to your bookmarks. This means that you can see in your bookmarks folder when your favorite site has been updated. Or you can create your own webpage that shows different feeds on it, so you only have to visit one page and get information from all of your favorite sites.
BUT WHAT CAN A COMPANY DO WITH THIS?
On your company website you could have lots of useful information for your customers to read without EVER having to write that content by yourself. The content comes from other websites that share their content freely with you. FREE content! Saving YOU lots of time, not having to maintain your web site but still have NEW useful content all the time.
